The idea is to have breeding practices that allow the animal to be in a building in contact with humans, but also to have access to the outdoors to try and encourage its behavior.

- While there is a tendency to think that the intensification of livestock farming is leading to a deterioration in animal welfare, there are a number of nuances.
- Outdoors animals are better able to express their natural behaviors. In a stable, they are sheltered from predation and bad weather.
- The best compromise is to offer animals access to outdoors while still allowing them to stay in the stable whenever they want.
