This improvement calls for an increased involvement and mobilization of all actors, farmers and professionals in daily contact with animals, veterinarians, veterinary public health inspection services, the food industry, scientists and animal protection associations. It requires the production of increasingly precise scientific knowledge and the transfer of this knowledge, the improvement of the dialogue between these actors as well as a better training of professionals and better information of civil society.<\/span><\/div><p>With this in mind and in accordance with <a href=\"https:\/\/agriculture.gouv.fr\/2016-2020-une-strategie-globale-pour-le-bien-etre-des-animaux-en-france\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">France\u2019s Strategy for Animal Welfare (2016-2020)<\/a>, VetAgro Sup\u2019s Chaire bien-\u00eatre animal was created in 2018. It works in close collaboration with the Centre National de R\u00e9f\u00e9rence (CNR) for animal welfare, whose missions are focused on scientific expertise and research coordination.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7b98cd1 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"7b98cd1\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Missions and actions<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1256ccf elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"1256ccf\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The missions of the Chaire bien-\u00eatre animal are to contribute to:<\/p><ul><li><strong>The production and transfer of scientific knowledge<\/strong>: thanks to its team of teacher-researchers and young scientists, the Chaire bien-\u00eatre animal conducts research projects (on the welfare of dairy cows on pasture, on the impact of reproductive biotechnologies on cattle welfare, etc.), publishes scientific articles and conducts expert assessments (evaluation and monitoring of pilot farms, livestock pain assessment, evaluation of animal welfare during animal contests, etc.).<\/li><\/ul><ul><li><b><span lang=\"EN-US\">Training and creation of training tools<\/span><\/b>: <span lang=\"EN-US\">the Chaire bien-\u00eatre animal develops and offers face-to-face and distance learning courses for professionals in the field of animal welfare (\u00ab\u00a0Animal welfare: understanding, evaluating, improving, dialoguing\u00a0\u00bb, \u00ab\u00a0Dehorning efficiently, easily and painlessly\u00a0\u00bb, \u00ab\u00a0Medical training for equines\u00a0\u00bb\u2026).
